Is Kanye West starting a makeup line just to get revenge on Kylie Jenner? That’s what one of the tabloids is claiming. looked into the allegation.
Last month, TMZ reported West was trademarking his late mother’s name, Donda, to use for a cosmetics line. Now Star asserts in its new issue that “konniving Kanye [is] koming for Kylie.” The story says, “Kanye West’s petty behavior has reached a new high, or low, rather, as he prepares to launch a rival makeup line to spite his little sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner!”
“The tension began last year when Kylie inked a deal with Puma, despite Kanye’s Yeezy collaboration with Adidas. Now the vindictive rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian, is stuck in the middle,” claims the magazine. A so-called “family friend” tells the outlet, “He’s had it out for Kylie ever since the Puma fiasco, that’s 100 percent why he’s doing this line. What on earth does Kanye West know, or care, about makeup?”
What’s more is the publication contends Kardashian is struggling to “reign in her bratty husband,” with its tipster alleging, “She’s very wary of upsetting Kanye but has begged him to let go of his grudge. So far it’s not working.” Adds the tabloid, “Revenge is a dish best served cold… in the beauty aisle!”
But West’s potential cosmetics line has nothing to do with “revenge” or “spite.” It also has nothing to do with Jenner. This is an idea the rapper has had for years, long before the teen launched her line last year. In fact, according to a business plan West even shared on Twitter, he’s also interested in accessories and even spas and salons.
Furthermore, West went about trademarking “Donda” for possible future use, not because he has a makeup collection imminently in the works. There’s also no “grudge” between the performer and his famous sibling-in-law. While West was admittedly upset about the Puma dust-up early last year, Jenner still attended his New York Fashion Week Show in September, months after the dispute.
There isn’t an ongoing feud, despite the Star spin. A rep for West exclusively tells the tabloid’s “revenge” tale is “false.” This is the same disreputable gossip magazine that more than a year ago falsely claimed West and Kardashian were in a “$1 billion divorce,” so we’re certainly not surprised.
