According to reports, Russell Simmons is looking to unload his pricey Los Angeles mansion for $8.25 million amidst over a dozen allegations of sexual assault, and improper behavior towards women.
The mogul is also closing shop in the property that housed his Los Angeles Yoga studio at the end of the month.
And, Russell has been looking to sell his New York penthouse for $9.2 million.
The flurry of activity surrounding Simmons’ is real estate has led to speculation that Def Jam co-founder is planning to move out of the country, possibly to Bali, Indonesia, where he has been spending time as he fights off the rape allegations.
According to reports, Indonesia has no extradition treaties with the United States, which could work to his favor in case Simmons ends up being charged with a crime.
The hip-hop mogul has vehemently denied each of the charges against him, and claims he passed a number of lie detector tests to prove his innocence.
A representative for Simmons told The Hollywood Reporter that he was simply traveling abroad more.
“Russell divested himself of his active U.S. business interests last year to focus on his spiritual practice and serving his community,” a rep said in a statement. “As part of that journey, Russell has traveled to many spiritual destinations around the world but continues to retain active family presence and residence in the U.S.”
